Lardner
Lardner Park Market is a special place to visit and is popular with stall holders and visitors alike. It is set on 200 ha of some of Victoria’s best farming land, halfway between Drouin and Warragul. The market is only held three times a year so people flock there for the local produce and organically grown foods; homemade preserves and sauces; art and craft; household goods; food and all the good things you expect to find at a large market. There are up to 300 stalls for you to enjoy.
For 30 years Lardner Park has been developed into a venue for big events like Trucks in Action and the Gippsland Field Days.
While visiting Gippsland take a scenic drive to the Tarago Reservoir. Walk through the park along the base if the dam. Stay and have a barbecue or picnic and enjoy the beauty of the area.
If you enjoy walking through some Australia’s beautiful bushland, drive south to Mount Worth State Park. This is a 1040 ha park made up of regenerated, reclaimed land, state forest and cleared land. Bring your lunch and spend the afternoon wandering along the many mountain trails through the natural ash forest of the area.
Entry to the market is free but there is a $3 parking fee.
