You can activate purchase discounts for your stall. Purchase discounts
apply to all customer orders that include products in the details
of which you selected the 'Apply global discounts' check box. Purchase
discounts do not require your customers to enter any type of "code"
to get the discount. They arenormally used to provide automatic
savings on every customer order that is over a certain amount.
Note. The system checks if a purchase discount needs to be calculated
and applied to the order based on the order subtotal. The 'Order
Subtotal' is the cost of all products included into the order before
any discounts or sales tax are applied. If the Subtotal is greater
than a certain amount, the customer gets a purchase discount. If,
besides a global purchase discount, a discount coupon is applied,
the coupon savings amount is deducted from what remains of the subtotal
after the application of the purchase discount.
To define a purchase discount:
1. Click on Discounts in the Inventory menu, the 'Edit purchase
discounts' form will appear.
2. Enter the Order Subtotal for which you want to set a discount.
Here the Order Subtotal is the cost
of all products in cart before taxes and discounts are applied.
For example, if you set the value in
the Order Subtotal field to 1000.00, the discount will be applied
when a customer orders a
product or products for the sum of $1000.00 or over. The order total
will be lowered
automatically after the discount savings are applied.
3. Enter the discount value into the 'Discount' field.
4. Select the Discount type from the drop-down list (absolute or
percent value). Absolute discount is a flat value expressed in the
current monetary units. Percent value is how many percent of the
order total the customer gets off.
5. Select the Membership group to which the discount should be applied.
6. Click on Add/Update.
To delete a discount, click on Delete next to the discount you want
to be deleted.
