You can add additional non-standard fields to the product table. For example, this might be used to add 'Author' and 'ISBN' fields to a product that is a book.

To add an extra field:

1. Click on Extra fields in the Products menu.
2. Use the 'Add extra field' subsection of the 'Extra fields' form to enter a name for the new field and the default value for this field.

3. Click on Apply.

If you want to remove an extra field, select the check box next to it and click on Delete selected. You can use the Check all / Uncheck all links to select or unselect all the boxes.If you do not want to make a field visible to your customers, unselect the Show check box next to the extra field and click on Apply.

An extra field does not appear on the product details page of a product in the customer zone until avalue is assigned to it by the stall holder in the product details section of this specific product. To assign a value to some extra field in the product details, open the product for modification, go to its product details section, make sure the default value displayed in the corresponding extra field is correct, otherwise replace it by the correct value, then click on Submit changes.
