In the coastal town of Mornington, the Mornington Markets have attracted hundreds of visitors every month to its Mornington Racecourse site since 1994. The area is famous for its amazing beaches, especially those wild back beaches where the waves crash along rugged coastlines.
With between 200 and 300 stalls, the Mornington Markets have something for everyone. This is a great place to get your fresh fruit and vegetables, some wonderful Australian handicrafts, paintings, unique clothing and you may even find the perfect gift for a special occasion.
The Mornington Racecourse is nestled among the trees which protect patrons from the winter winds and give shade from the hot summer sun. But there is cover, so, no matter the weather, people flock to the Mornington Market every month.
Once you leave the market, take a look around at the wonderful shops along the coast. Maybe even try skin-diving or snorkelling at Portsea; horse riding at Balnarring, with dinner at the restaurant at one of the local wineries.
For the safety and comfort of other market goers, please leave your dog at home. There is a $3 parking fee to park in the grounds.
