One of the top ways to see just what Talbot offers is when the joint really jumps from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm on the third Sunday of every month at the Talbot Farmers’ Market. Not only is there fresh seasonal produce direct from farmer to you and large black pigs, perfect sourdough bread, naturally smoked trout, salmon and bacon, live music, choice cheeses, sumptuous honey, cheeky chickens and perfect puddings and pasta, it’s also when the real characters come out to play.
Talbot is a town of treasures and a great place to hang loose. The Quince Farm Café is open Wednesday to Sunday and public holidays. Try coffee on the verandah and check out what’s available in the information centre. Red Geranium Café is a cosy place for dining, sink into a story at Slightly Bent Books and you may forget time altogether and Court House Hotel Motel is fabulous for a post market roast and lager on a hot summer afternoon.
