For a large amount of fresh food and prepared products head to the Seaford Farmers Market south-east of Melbourne.
Among the delicious vegetables for sale are pumpkins, carrots, capsicums and potatoes. Cakes, cookies, biscuits, breads and pancakes are also for sale. The Seaford Farmers Market also sells hot sausages cooked on the barbecue grill.
The market is on every third Sunday of every month during the year. It opens at 8:00 in the morning and closes at 1:00 in the afternoon. The Seaford Farmers Market is run by the Frankston Rotary Club and there is an entrance cost of a gold coin.
The market is located at the Seaford Community Centre, Station Street in Seaford, Victoria. It is a very short walk from Seaford Station along Station Street to the Broughton Street Reserve where the market is. Take the Frankston Line train from Melbourne to Seaford.
When driving to the Seaford Farmers’ Market, head south from Melbourne along the Nepean Highway or Frankston Freeway. Turn left from the Nepean Highway into Station Street and the market. When going along the Frankston Freeway, take the Seaford Road exit which is just past where the Frankston Freeway is joined by the East Link toll road. Seaford Road then connects with the Nepean Hghway.
After a morning at the market, it is only a short walk west to the beach. There are also shopping areas around Patterson Lakes, Carrum Downs and Frankston to drive to. Sports fans can also visit the training ground of the St Kilda Saints located in Seaford.
