Yarra Glen Market
Yarra Glen Market is nestled in the beautiful Yarra Valley surrounded by incredible beauty and is rich in history. It is a relaxing way to spend a Sunday wandering the hundreds of stalls from September through to June; with an additional twilight market in time for Christmas. Stall holders offer a huge range of hand crafted goods, as well as locally grown fruit and vegetables, plants and lifestyle products. Many local artists come down from the hills to sell their unique products at the monthly Yarra Glen Market.
Why not spend the day in Yarra Glen; even the weekend. You may like to stay in one of Victoria’s most well-known homesteads, Chateau Yering that stands in 250 acres and was the first vineyard in Victoria. In 1837 the Ryrie brothers drove a herd of cattle from NSW to Victoria and brought vine cuttings with them. In 1945 they had their first vintage wine and over the ensuing years they were very successful with their Chateau Yering wines.
Today the area is packed with fine restaurants and wineries, guest accommodation, horse riding, ballooning and other wonderful things to fill your time on a Sunday or on a weekend break.
Please leave your dog at home for the comfort of all market patrons.
